Life has been really hectic since last month.
Since moving into our new house 2 months ago the ‘to do’ list seems to be getting longer. Can you relate to this?
And it’s not like we’ve not been working through it either!
It’s our house warming/engagement BBQ do this Saturday (16th). Which in turn has added to the list.
Great.
Living near the coast has many benefits, however the mist from the North Sea always appears to be there. Just lingering.
So we’ve been crossing our fingers in hope that the weather will hold up for this weekend. It doesn’t look good though.
So I’ll probably be a lone figure cooking under the Gazebo whilst the party goes on indoors
On the business front, Graeme and I exhibited at the World Aesthetic Congress last Friday and Saturday at the QE2 Conference Centre in Westminster. It was a really good event and it was also good seeing many faces, including clients.
The fun started on the way back. We were booked on the 17:45 train to Newcastle from KX, and had an hour to spare when trying to flag down a cab outside Westminster Abbey.
One cabbie took the time to inform us (in true cabbie style) that we had NO chance of getting a cab and that the traffic wasgridlocked all the way up Embankment.
The time was now nearly 5 and mild panic was starting to kick in.
Plan B now took effect.
Now, bear in mind that not only did we have our luggage, we had the seminar stand that is contained in an oval shaped case and pulls along behind you. Rather like a LARGE suitcase.
And now we were headed for the tube. Not a great idea for the time of day, but our last option left.
To add to our ‘fun’, the tube was having problems and some lines were not working, so we had to plot a new route.
The best bit was trying to get all the luggage and stand actually on the train. I’m sure you know what the tube is like most times.
Graeme was determined and we pushed our way on (politely of course!).
We arrived at KX with a few minutes to spare, rather sweaty but relieved. We eventually managed to get the stand on the train (after walking to the front of the train and then being sent back to the rear by the driver).
Needless to say, a beer was in order after all the chaos…
Here’s some pictures of us at the event:
At least we arrived at our venue on Tuesday 12th in a more relaxed state (exhibiting at the North East Dental Radiology event in Sedgefield).
See you next month!
