Happy Families And THE Wedding - Ray Prince

Bride&Groom.jpgIt only took them 32 hours to get here, so it was a tired sister and her family that I met at Newcastle airport 2 weeks ago. They had travelled from New Zealand and came in on the Emirates flight from Dubai, a new route that only opened last September (which is no doubt a relief to them as it meant they avoided T5 at Heathrow!).

I hadn't seen my sister for 2 years or so, and my niece Scarlett had shot up (and was talking now). In true British weather style, it was about 16c but of course I told them not to get too comfortable as snow was on the way within days (which became a reality).

Scarlett is one of the flower girls at my wedding, and we had to fight to get the dress off her after she'd tried it on for size.

The wedding plans have been going well. As I write this we're 2 days away from the big day. All is on track (I think) and I'm now working on finalising my speech. Being devoid of some ideas, the internet has come to my rescue :)

We have 130 on the day and approx. 40-50 more coming on the evening, so we're really looking forward to it.

After the big day, we're going up to Loch Lomond where we've hired a lodge. It's got a hot tub so that's the bit we're excited about!

Post Wedding

Today is 2 days since the wedding. What a day!

Everything went as planned and the bride looked absolutely stunning. I have to say it was quite exciting as she walked up the aisle towards me.

The best man was fairly kind to me with his speech and there weren't too many looks of horror from the mother-in-law or the bride :)

So now it's time to pack and off to Scotland tomorrow.

See you next month!
