State Pension Forecast - Hot Topics Q&A

Q. As a dentist approaching 60, I decided to get myself organised and write to the State Pension Agency to obtain  a  forecast on my state pension due at age 65.

My request was answered with a short note saying that this is not now possible. What is going on?!

A. Very simply the Department for Work and Pensions are revamping and updating their forecasting system.

This means that unless you are age 65 before April 6th 2010, you will not get a written forecast.

However, we are told that if you contact them by phone, they will look at your N.I history and offer information verbally.
